As discussed in your consultation you will be required to wear a postoperative garment to aid healing and optimize results.
Usually you can expect to wear your garment for 6 weeks post-surgery and it is important not to remove it for more that 30 minutes at a time.
What are the benefits of wearing a compression garment?
They Promote Healing
After surgical procedures the body protects itself by sending fluid to the site of the surgery. This results in swelling. The compression garment helps limit the fluid buildup which results in less swelling.
They Prevent Bruising
Bruising after surgery is common as instruments can disrupt blood vessels. Compression garments reduce bruising by prevent the rise of blood cells up to the epidermal layer.
They Minimize Scarring
As the Compression garments provide stability around the surgery site which limits the scarring. By holding the wound together and allowing it to heal.
They Reduce Infections
As compression garments enclose the site of the surgery they can help with keeping contaminants away from the wound.
We recommend choosing a black colour and purchasing two sets of garments for hygiene reasons. For sizing you will require a simple measuring tape and the garment website has all the garment sizing guides you will require to help you select the right size.
