From a young age, I was fascinated by the ability of surgery to restore confidence and improve lives. This passion led me to study medicine in Brazil, where plastic surgery is highly advanced and deeply ingrained in the medical culture. I trained extensively under some of the best surgeons in the field, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of procedures. The precision, artistry, and impact of plastic surgery truly resonated with me, and I knew it was the perfect speciality for me.
You trained extensively in Brazil. How has that shaped your approach as a plastic surgeon?
Training in Brazil provided me with a solid foundation in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. The country is well known for its pioneering techniques and its focus on achieving natural-looking results. My training was intensive, covering all aspects of body contouring, breast surgery, and facial procedures. Brazilian surgeons place great emphasis on meticulous planning and tailoring treatments to each patient’s unique anatomy. This philosophy has stayed with me throughout my career, and I always aim to deliver results that enhance a patient’s natural beauty while maintaining harmony and proportion.
You have a specialist interest in mummy makeovers. What draws you to this area of plastic surgery?
Becoming a mother is a beautiful experience, but it also brings significant changes to a woman’s body. Many women struggle with these changes, no matter how much they exercise or maintain a healthy lifestyle. Mummy makeover surgery is about helping them regain their confidence and feel like themselves again. I love being part of that journey, seeing how a combination of procedures—such as breast surgery, tummy tucks, and liposuction—can completely transform a patient’s self-esteem. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact this has on their lives.
What is your approach when consulting with patients who are considering surgery?
My approach is always patient-centred. Every individual has different goals, body types, and concerns, so I take the time to understand their expectations and discuss realistic outcomes. Honesty and clear communication are key—I ensure my patients are fully informed about the procedure, recovery, and potential risks before making a decision. I also emphasise the importance of choosing surgery for the right reasons. It should always be a personal choice, made to improve confidence and well-being rather than to meet external pressures.
Outside of your work, how do you like to spend your time?
My work is very demanding, so I make sure to spend quality time with my family and friends whenever possible. They are my biggest source of support, and I truly value those moments with them. Travelling is also something I love—it gives me the chance to experience different cultures, learn new perspectives, and take a break from the fast-paced nature of my profession. Exploring new places and meeting new people is always inspiring, both personally and professionally.
