- Have excess fat beneath your chin that you have been unable to lose naturally.

If you have a BMI over 30, you may not be considered a suitable candidate for this procedure.
What does chin liposuction involve?
Chin liposuction will be performed using tumescent liposuction. This means that you will be awake during the procedure, but the tumescent anaesthetic prevents you from feeling pain or discomfort. Although most commonly carried out under a local anaesthetic, this procedure can be performed under a general anaesthetic if you do not wish to be awake. The chin lipo procedure will begin with the tumescent anaesthetic being injected. This will make the area swollen and firm. Next, the surgeon will make small incisions, which will take place under the chin or near the ears. This will ensure the incisions are not noticeable following the procedure. Small cannulas will be inserted through the incision, allowing the fat to be removed. The area will then be covered with bandages. You will be able to return home on the same day as your procedure.
What is the recovery like after chin lipo?
It is normal to experience some bruising and swelling following chin liposuction, particularly around the incision areas. If needed, you can place an ice pack on the area to help decrease swelling. You may also need to take pain medication to help alleviate any symptoms.
