Key Points
- How much does vaginoplasty cost in London? At Centre for Surgery, vaginoplasty (vaginal tightening surgery) starts from £6,000, including the surgeon, TIVA anaesthetic, theatre and follow-up.
- How much is vaginoplasty with labiaplasty? From £8,000 when both are done in one operation.
- How much is vaginoplasty with perineoplasty? From £8,500, less than the two added together, as they share much of the same surgery. Perineoplasty alone starts from £5,500.
- What affects the price? Whether procedures are combined, how much repair is needed, and whether it is a first operation or a revision.
- Is vaginoplasty available on the NHS? Not for cosmetic reasons. The NHS treats significant prolapse or incontinence through urogynaecology, which is a different pathway.
- Can I pay for vaginoplasty in instalments? Yes, finance is available, subject to status.
Vaginoplasty (vaginal tightening surgery) at Centre for Surgery starts from £6,000. Combined with labiaplasty, the price starts from £8,000. Every vaginoplasty is performed by a GMC-registered consultant gynaecological surgeon, and the surgeon you see at consultation is the surgeon who operates.
This 2026 guide sets out the price, what’s included, what affects the cost, how combining procedures adds up, the NHS position, and the finance options available. Vaginoplasty tightens the vaginal canal and the underlying pelvic floor by reconstructing the posterior vaginal wall and repairing the stretched levator ani muscles — most commonly after vaginal childbirth or as a result of the natural ageing process. If childbirth is the reason you are considering it, our guide to vaginoplasty after childbirth covers what to expect, and our vaginoplasty recovery guide explains the time off you will need to budget for.

Vaginoplasty is a day-case procedure — you go home the same day. It’s performed under TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia) by a consultant anaesthetist, and takes approximately one to two hours as a standalone procedure. No mesh is used.
What’s included in the price
The quoted vaginoplasty price at Centre for Surgery is a single, transparent package covering:
- As many pre-operative consultations with your surgeon as you need
- Full pre-operative medical assessment
- The surgeon’s fee, the consultant anaesthetist (TIVA), and theatre time at our CQC-regulated Baker Street facility
- Dissolvable sutures — no return visit for removal
- Your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours, and our nursing team stays in contact over the first two weeks
- Nurse-led wound check at 7–10 days and a surgeon review at 6 weeks
- A dedicated patient coordinator throughout
The £100 consultation fee is redeemable in full against your procedure cost if you proceed. There are no hidden additions after your written quote. Any compression garment or prescribed medication you need is bought separately, and histology is charged separately where a sample is sent for analysis; your coordinator confirms these in advance.
What affects the cost of vaginoplasty?
Three factors move the total:
- Single or combined procedure: vaginoplasty alone starts from £6,000. Combining it with labiaplasty, perineoplasty, or clitoral hood reduction in the same session adds to the total — though combining is more efficient than having each separately.
- Degree of laxity and complexity: the extent of the pelvic floor repair varies from patient to patient, particularly after multiple vaginal deliveries — this is assessed by your surgeon at consultation and reflected in your quote.
- Primary or revision: a procedure that revises previous surgery is more complex and is quoted individually.
The price is the same wherever in the UK you travel from: all vaginoplasty is performed at our Baker Street hospital in Marylebone. If you live some distance away, your coordinator can usually combine your consultation and pre-operative assessment into one visit.
How a combined vaginoplasty quote adds up
Many women have concerns about both internal vaginal laxity and the external labial appearance — most commonly after multiple vaginal deliveries. Where that’s the case, combining vaginoplasty with another procedure in a single session is more cost-effective than staging separate operations, because you pay once for the theatre, anaesthetic, and facility rather than twice — and you recover once.
Combined procedures are quoted together in writing after consultation. The most common combination is vaginoplasty with labiaplasty: vaginoplasty from £6,000 plus labiaplasty from £3,900, priced together from £8,000. Vaginoplasty can also be combined with clitoral hood reduction or perineoplasty (which repairs and tightens the perineum, the area between the vaginal opening and the anus). All combined procedures are performed under TIVA and quoted at consultation. Our labiaplasty cost guide sets out labiaplasty prices on their own, and our comparison of labiaplasty vs vaginoplasty explains which concern each treats.
Perineoplasty and combined vaginoplasty — what it costs and why it’s not simply additive
Perineoplasty (perineorrhaphy) repairs and tightens the perineum — the 3–4 cm of skin, connective tissue and muscle between the vaginal opening and the anus. It is a different operation from vaginoplasty and treats a different problem. Vaginoplasty tightens the vaginal canal internally by reconstructing the posterior wall and the levator ani muscles. Perineoplasty rebuilds the support structure at the vaginal opening itself, excising painful scar tissue from perineal tears or episiotomy along the way.
Standalone perineoplasty starts from £5,500. Combined vaginoplasty and perineoplasty starts from £8,500.
Why the combined price is lower than the two added together
Combined vaginoplasty and labiaplasty is priced additively, because they are separate operations on separate structures — the internal canal and the external labia — each requiring its own surgical work. Perineoplasty is different. It is performed through the same posterior approach as vaginoplasty, on tissue that is directly continuous with it, so the two procedures share not only the theatre time, anaesthetic and recovery but a substantial part of the dissection itself. That is why £8,500 sits well below £6,000 plus £5,500, and why combining is particularly good value in this specific pairing.
Which one do you actually need?
The distinction matters more than the price difference, because having the wrong procedure will not fix the problem. A useful way to think about it:
- Perineoplasty — if the concern is a widened vaginal opening, painful or tethered scar tissue from a tear or episiotomy, or discomfort on sitting or during intercourse that traces back to the perineal scar.
- Vaginoplasty — if the concern is laxity along the vaginal canal itself and reduced sensation during intercourse, rather than anything at the opening.
- Both — commonly appropriate after multiple vaginal deliveries, or after a difficult delivery involving a significant tear, where the canal has stretched and the perineum has been damaged. This is the most frequently combined pairing in cosmetic gynaecology for exactly that reason.
Your surgeon examines both structures at consultation and will tell you directly if only one procedure is warranted. Perineoplasty is not available on the NHS for cosmetic indications, though perineal repair following obstetric injury may be managed through an NHS pathway — this is discussed at consultation where relevant.
Is vaginoplasty worth the cost?
Price is only part of the decision. Published outcome studies report high satisfaction after vaginal tightening: in a 2010 multicentre study of 258 women in The Journal of Sexual Medicine ↗, 91.6% were satisfied with the results of female genital cosmetic surgery, and the improvement in sexual enjoyment was greatest after vaginal tightening and perineal procedures[1]. A 2025 systematic review in the International Urogynecology Journal ↗ found that most studies reported better sexual function after vaginal tightening, but cautioned that the studies were small and used different techniques and measures[2].
Surgery is most likely to be worth it for women with clear laxity after childbirth or with age — the strongest links to a feeling of looseness are vaginal birth and menopause[3] — who have finished having children. Our guide to vaginoplasty reviews and results covers what women report afterwards, and our guide to vaginoplasty before having children explains why timing affects value for money. For milder laxity, non-surgical laser costs less upfront; our vaginal rejuvenation cost guide compares surgical and laser prices.
Is vaginoplasty available on the NHS?
Cosmetic vaginoplasty — performed to improve vaginal tone, sensation, or appearance — isn’t funded by the NHS. It’s a self-funded procedure.
There’s an important distinction to be aware of. The NHS does provide vaginal surgery for clear clinical indications: significant pelvic organ prolapse (such as a cystocele or rectocele) or severe stress urinary incontinence. These conditions are treated by a urogynaecologist, not by cosmetic vaginoplasty, and follow a different surgical pathway; the NHS guide to pelvic organ prolapse ↗ explains the treatments available. If your primary concern is prolapse or incontinence rather than vaginal laxity, an NHS urogynaecology referral is the more appropriate route — and your surgeon will advise you of that directly at consultation if your presentation is better managed that way.
Gender-affirming vaginoplasty cost
Searches for vaginoplasty cost often include gender-affirming (MTF) vaginoplasty, which is a different and much larger operation that creates a vagina. Centre for Surgery does not offer gender-affirming genital surgery, so the prices on this page do not apply to it. In the UK it is usually accessed through NHS gender services; the NHS guidance on gender dysphoria treatment ↗ explains the pathway.

Why choose Centre for Surgery for vaginoplasty?
- A consultant gynaecological surgeon: every vaginoplasty is performed by a GMC-registered consultant gynaecological surgeon with experience in cosmetic gynaecology and pelvic floor reconstruction. In the UK, cosmetic procedures including vaginoplasty can legally be performed by doctors without specialist gynaecological training, so it is worth checking any surgeon’s registration and specialist training on the GMC register before booking.
- Your consulting surgeon is your operating surgeon: the surgeon who sees you at consultation performs your procedure — there are no intermediaries.
- An honest assessment: vaginoplasty restores vaginal tone but doesn’t guarantee a specific outcome, and your surgeon will give a direct account of what surgery can and cannot achieve for your anatomy.
- TIVA anaesthesia administered by a consultant anaesthetist, which allows a smooth day-case recovery.
- CQC-regulated hospital rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission, with structured aftercare — your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours, and our nursing team stays in contact over the first two weeks.
- Two-week cooling-off period: we recommend at least two weeks between giving consent and your procedure, so that you have time to think it through.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does vaginoplasty cost in the UK in 2026?
At Centre for Surgery in London, vaginoplasty starts from £6,000 on its own. Combined with labiaplasty it starts from £8,000. Combined with perineoplasty it starts from £8,500, and combined with clitoral hood reduction it starts from £7,500.
How much is a vaginoplasty?
Vaginoplasty at Centre for Surgery starts from £6,000, including the surgeon, consultant anaesthetist, theatre and follow-up. Higher totals usually reflect a combined procedure — for example vaginoplasty with labiaplasty from £8,000 — rather than vaginoplasty alone. Your exact quote is confirmed in writing at consultation.
How much is vaginoplasty combined with labiaplasty?
Combined vaginoplasty and labiaplasty starts from £8,000 — less than the individual costs added together (vaginoplasty from £6,000 plus labiaplasty from £3,900). Having them in one session is more cost-effective than staging two separate operations.
How much does perineoplasty cost?
Standalone perineoplasty at Centre for Surgery starts from £5,500. Combined vaginoplasty and perineoplasty starts from £8,500 — less than the two procedures added together, because perineoplasty is performed through the same posterior approach as vaginoplasty and shares a substantial part of the dissection as well as the theatre time, anaesthetic and recovery. Straightforward standalone cases can be performed under local anaesthetic with sedation; combined cases use TIVA.
How much does a designer vagina cost?
“Designer vagina” is an informal term for several different procedures, most often labiaplasty, sometimes combined with vaginoplasty or clitoral hood reduction, so the cost depends on what is done. Our vaginal rejuvenation cost guide lists each option, and our guide to what a designer vagina is explains the terms.
What anaesthetic is used, and does it affect the cost?
Vaginoplasty at Centre for Surgery is performed under TIVA (total intravenous anaesthesia) administered by a consultant anaesthetist — the anaesthetist’s fee and theatre time are already included in the quoted price, so there’s no separate charge to budget for.
How much is vaginoplasty per month on finance?
You can pay in full or spread the cost with finance through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Plans and a representative example are on our finance options page, and a patient coordinator can talk you through them on 020 7993 4849.
Is vaginoplasty available on the NHS?
Cosmetic vaginoplasty isn’t NHS-funded. The NHS treats significant pelvic organ prolapse or severe stress incontinence — through a urogynaecologist, not cosmetic vaginoplasty. If prolapse or incontinence is your main concern, an NHS referral is the more appropriate route.
Does insurance cover vaginoplasty?
Vaginoplasty performed for tightness, sensation, or appearance is a self-funded procedure, so check with your insurer before assuming any cover. Where a genuine reconstructive or functional indication exists (such as prolapse or incontinence), that’s usually managed through a urogynaecology pathway rather than cosmetic surgery.
