Calf implant surgery at Centre for Surgery starts from £6,500 for the standard cosmetic case — a single solid silicone implant in each leg. Placing two implants per leg (medial and lateral head) starts from £8,500. Treating one leg only, or using a 3D custom-designed implant for calf atrophy, is priced individually at consultation. Every calf implant procedure is performed by consultant plastic surgeon Mr Metin Nizamoglu FRCS (Plast).
Calf augmentation is one of the more specialised body-contouring procedures, performed by only a small number of UK surgeons. This 2026 guide sets out the price by configuration, what’s included (and the costs to budget for separately), the difference in cost between standard and 3D custom implants, how implants compare on cost with fat transfer, and the finance options available.
How much do calf implants cost in London?
Calf implant pricing depends on how many implants are placed per leg, whether one or both legs are treated, and whether a standard or 3D custom-designed implant is used. The table below gives starting prices; your exact quote is confirmed after a face-to-face consultation with Mr Nizamoglu.
| Calf implant procedure | Indicative cost (London) |
|---|---|
| Single implant per leg — bilateral (standard cosmetic) | from £6,500 |
| Dual implants per leg — medial + lateral head | from £8,500 |
| Unilateral — one leg only | priced at consultation |
| 3D custom Anatomik Modelling — for calf atrophy | priced at consultation |

Calf implant surgery is performed as a day case under TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia) by Mr Nizamoglu at our CQC-regulated Baker Street facility — admitted and discharged the same day, with bilateral surgery taking around two to three hours.
A price cannot show you the shape. Our calf augmentation before and after photos show patients treated at Baker Street, and how to read these photos explains what a photograph of a calf can and cannot tell you.
What’s included in the price — and what’s extra
The quoted calf implant price at Centre for Surgery is a single, transparent package covering:
- As many pre-operative consultations with Mr Nizamoglu as you need
- Pre-operative medical assessment
- The surgeon’s fee, the consultant anaesthetist (TIVA), and theatre time at our CQC-regulated Baker Street facility
- The solid silicone calf implants (standard range)
- Dissolvable sutures and same-day discharge
- Your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours
- Wound check at 7–10 days, surgeon review at 6 weeks, and a 3-month assessment
- A dedicated patient coordinator throughout
Two costs are charged separately and confirmed in advance:
- Compression garments (support stockings) — these are not included in the procedure cost and must be purchased before your surgery date. They’re worn day and night for the first three weeks, then at night only for a further three weeks, so they’re an essential part of recovery.
- 3D custom Anatomik Modelling implants — where a custom implant is required, the CT imaging, bespoke design and fabrication carry an additional cost on top of the surgical fee, detailed at consultation.
Prescribed medication is also dispensed separately. The £100 consultation fee is redeemable against the procedure if you proceed.
What affects the cost of calf implants?
Four factors move the total:
- Implants per leg: a single implant per leg (augmenting the medial gastrocnemius) starts from £6,500; dual implants per leg (medial and lateral head, for more width and definition) start from £8,500.
- One leg or both: most cosmetic patients have both legs treated; unilateral surgery (often for asymmetry) is quoted individually.
- Standard or 3D custom implant: standard off-the-shelf implants suit most cosmetic cases; 3D custom-designed implants for atrophy carry additional imaging, design and fabrication costs.
- Cosmetic or reconstructive: reconstructive cases (atrophy, asymmetry, congenital conditions) often involve custom implants and more complex planning, and are priced individually.
Standard vs 3D custom-designed implants — the cost difference
The biggest single cost driver is whether you need a standard or a custom implant:
- Standard silicone implants come in a range of off-the-shelf sizes and suit the majority of cosmetic augmentations — patients who want fuller, more defined, more symmetrical calves. This is the from-£6,500 (single per leg) and from-£8,500 (dual per leg) pricing.
- 3D custom-designed implants are produced specifically for one patient by Anatomik Modelling, using a high-resolution CT scan of both legs to design an implant that precisely fills a volume deficit or matches the opposite leg. They’re the option for significant calf atrophy or asymmetry — following conditions such as polio, spina bifida, or muscle loss after injury. The custom route adds the cost of imaging, computer-aided design and bespoke fabrication (which takes several weeks), so it’s priced individually at consultation. Centre for Surgery is one of only a few UK centres offering this.
Calf implants vs fat transfer — cost comparison
For a milder, more subtle increase in size, calf augmentation with fat transfer is an alternative that uses your own fat rather than an implant, from £5,500 — a lower price point than implant surgery. The trade-off is that a proportion of the transferred fat is reabsorbed by the body in the months after surgery, so the increase is more modest and less precisely defined. Implants give a larger, permanent, predictable increase that doesn’t fluctuate; fat transfer gives a softer, more natural result for smaller corrections. Which is more appropriate — and more cost-effective for your goals — depends on your anatomy and how much volume you want, which Mr Nizamoglu assesses at consultation. The fat transfer cost guide covers the fat-based option in detail, and there’s a full implants vs fat transfer comparison if you’re weighing the two.
Is calf augmentation available on the NHS?
Cosmetic calf augmentation isn’t funded by the NHS or covered by private medical insurance — it’s a self-funded procedure. Reconstructive calf surgery may be considered on the NHS in specific circumstances: significant calf atrophy or asymmetry following a congenital condition, neurological disease, or serious trauma may attract NHS or insurance funding on clinical grounds. This is assessed individually, and Mr Nizamoglu can advise on eligibility at consultation. For cosmetic cases, finance is the usual route.

Calf implants cost FAQs
How much do calf implants cost in the UK in 2026?
At Centre for Surgery in London, calf implants start from £6,500 for a single implant in each leg (the standard cosmetic case) and from £8,500 for dual implants per leg. Treating one leg only, or using a 3D custom-designed implant for atrophy, is priced individually at consultation.
Why are calf implants priced from £6,500?
That figure covers the standard bilateral cosmetic case — one solid silicone implant in each leg, performed by a plastic surgeon as a day case under TIVA, including the implants, theatre, anaesthetist and the full aftercare package. More implants, or a custom implant, increase the total.
Does the price include both legs?
Yes — the from-£6,500 (single implant) and from-£8,500 (dual implant) prices are for bilateral surgery, both legs treated in one session. Unilateral surgery (one leg only, often for asymmetry) is quoted separately.
What’s included in the price?
The package covers Mr Nizamoglu’s fee, the consultant anaesthetist (TIVA), theatre and facility fees, all consultations, the standard silicone implants, your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours, a wound check, a 6-week surgeon review and a 3-month assessment. Compression garments and any prescribed medication are charged separately, and 3D custom implants carry an additional cost.
Why do 3D custom implants cost more?
Custom Anatomik Modelling implants are designed and manufactured for one patient from a CT scan of both legs — the imaging, bespoke computer-aided design and fabrication (which takes several weeks) add cost on top of the surgical fee. They’re used for significant atrophy or asymmetry where a standard implant can’t replicate the lost volume, and are priced at consultation.
How much are calf implants per month on finance?
You can pay in full or spread the cost with finance through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Plans and a representative example are on our finance options page, and a patient coordinator can talk you through them on 020 7993 4849.
Are calf implants cheaper than fat transfer?
No — fat transfer calf augmentation is the lower-cost option, from £5,500, but it gives a more modest result because some of the transferred fat is reabsorbed. Implants cost more (from £6,500) but give a larger, permanent, more defined increase. The right choice depends on how much volume you want.
Is calf augmentation available on the NHS?
Cosmetic calf augmentation isn’t funded by the NHS or private insurance. Reconstructive surgery for significant atrophy or asymmetry following a congenital condition, neurological disease or trauma may be considered on clinical grounds — assessed individually.
