Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Blepharoplasty takes away excess skin from heavy upper lids, bags from the lower lids, or both, for a fresher look. Choose it if the problem is the eyelids themselves rather than a low brow.
Cosmetic eye, brow and forehead surgery in London for hooded lids, under-eye bags, a heavy brow or a high forehead, with eyelid surgery performed by surgeons with oculoplastic training.
Not sure which procedure?
A few short questions about what bothers you, and we will suggest where to start.

Whether your eyes look tired, hooded or heavy, or you want to change their shape or the height of your forehead, the right operation depends on which structure is causing it, from blepharoplasty and the brow lift to canthoplasty and hairline lowering.
Blepharoplasty takes away excess skin from heavy upper lids, bags from the lower lids, or both, for a fresher look. Choose it if the problem is the eyelids themselves rather than a low brow.
Asian blepharoplasty adds a fold to the upper lid where it is absent or faint, giving a defined double eyelid. Choose it if you want a natural-looking crease that stays true to your features.
Canthoplasty changes the angle at the outside of the eye, lifting a downturned corner or firming a loose lower lid. Choose it if eye shape, rather than eyelid skin, is what you want to change.
Revision blepharoplasty repairs problems after earlier eyelid surgery, such as a lid pulled down, hollowing or eyes that no longer match. Choose it if you are unhappy with your eyelids after a previous operation.
A brow lift raises eyebrows that have dropped, lifting the heaviness they push onto the upper eyelids and smoothing the forehead. Choose it if lifting your brows with a finger opens up your eyes.
An endoscopic brow lift raises the whole brow through small incisions within the hair, so the scars stay out of sight. Choose it when the entire brow has dropped, not just the outer edge.
The temporal brow lift works on the tail of the brow alone, lifting it from the temple to open up the outer eye. Choose it if only the outer brow sits low.
Hairline lowering moves the hairline down to make a tall forehead shorter, with the result visible straight away. Choose it if a high hairline bothers you and your hair is not thinning.
Forehead contouring reduces the bone above the eyes to soften a strong brow line, and is often combined with facial feminisation procedures. Choose it if the bone, not sagging skin, makes your brow look heavy.
Forehead osteoma removal takes out a slow-growing, harmless bone growth from the forehead, often via a small incision hidden at the hairline. Choose it if a firm lump on your forehead is visible or growing.
Not sure which of these fits you?
Answer a few short questionsA few short questions, including one simple test you can do with your fingers. You will get a suggested procedure, and an honest view of when an examination is needed first.
The upper face works as a unit: the eyelids, the eyebrows, the outer corners of the eyes and the forehead above them. A tired or heavy look can come from any one of them, and treating the wrong one is the most common reason for a disappointing result. Matching the concern to the procedure:
Often, and it is frequently the right answer. When the brow has dropped and the upper lid also has excess skin, lifting the brow first and then removing only the skin that remains avoids over-tightening the lid, which can stop the eyes closing fully. Lower eyelid surgery is often combined with support for the outer corner so the lower lid holds its position as it heals. Our guides to brow lift vs blepharoplasty and hooded eyes explain how to tell which structure is responsible.
Eyelid surgery is performed by surgeons with oculoplastic training, including Mr Shehab Jabir, Consultant Facial Plastic Surgeon, and Mr Tsong Qiang Kwong. The surgeon who assesses you at consultation is the surgeon who operates. Operations take place under TIVA or local anaesthetic with sedation, depending on the procedure, at our Baker Street hospital, rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission.
You can see real patient results in our blepharoplasty before and after photos, and prices in our guides to blepharoplasty cost and brow lift cost. We recommend a two-week cooling-off period before any surgical procedure.
