Male liposuction — or liposuction for men, as it’s also commonly searched — at Centre for Surgery in London costs from £3,900 for a single area, rising with the number of areas treated and the technique used. This 2026 guide breaks down the cost by area, explains what drives the price up, what’s included in the quote, and how standard fat-removal liposuction differs in cost from high-definition (HD) sculpting — so you can compare quotes properly and budget with confidence.
All male liposuction here is performed by GMC-registered plastic surgeons, using power-assisted liposuction (PAL) as standard, under TIVA as a day case at our CQC-regulated Baker Street facility.
How much does male liposuction cost in London?
The cost depends mainly on how many areas are treated, the volume of fat removed, the anaesthetic used, and whether standard liposuction or HD sculpting is required. The entry-level figure assumes local anaesthetic; TIVA with a consultant anaesthetist costs more, and applies to most multi-area torso work and to all HD Lipo. Here’s the 2026 pricing:
| Treatment | Typical example | Indicative cost |
|---|---|---|
| One area | Flanks only, or lower abdomen only | from £3,900 |
| Two areas | Full abdomen (upper and lower) | from £5,500 |
| Three areas | Full abdomen and flanks | from £6,500 |
| Four areas or 360° | Abdomen, flanks and chest | from £7,500 |
| HD Lipo — abdomen and flanks | VASER + power-assisted lipo + Argo Plasma | from £8,500 |
| HD Lipo — full torso | Abdomen, flanks, chest and upper arms | from £11,500 |
| HD Lipo — comprehensive | Full torso with fat transfer to chest | from £13,500 |

How areas are counted
Areas are counted by anatomical zone, not by body region — the same basis used across all our liposuction pricing. The upper abdomen and lower abdomen count separately, so a tummy treated in full is two areas rather than one. Paired structures count as one area between them, so both flanks together are one area, as is the chest. A full abdomen plus both flanks is therefore three areas. 360° liposuction covers the abdomen, flanks and lower back as one circumferential treatment.
This is the point that most often causes a gap between what someone expects and what they are quoted, so it is worth checking your likely area count before you book. You are welcome to phone and talk it through first.
These are indicative starting prices. Your exact quote is confirmed in writing after a face-to-face consultation and examination, with no hidden additions. The £100 consultation fee is redeemable in full against your procedure cost if you proceed.
How much does abdominal etching cost?
Abdominal etching, also known as ab etching or six pack surgery, uses the HD Lipo price bands in the table above. Etching of the abdomen and flanks falls in the abdomen and flanks band. If the sculpting extends to the chest and upper arms, it moves to the full torso band, and adding fat transfer to the chest moves it to the comprehensive band.
Abdominal etching is always performed under TIVA, which is included in your quote, and Argo Plasma skin tightening is added where your surgeon decides it is appropriate. Compression garments, prescribed medications and lymphatic drainage massage sessions are paid for separately, and your exact price is confirmed in writing after your consultation.
What’s included in the price
A male liposuction quote at Centre for Surgery is a single, transparent package covering:
- As many pre-operative consultations as you need
- Full pre-operative medical assessment
- The surgeon’s fee, the anaesthetist’s fee, and TIVA
- Day-case theatre time at our CQC-regulated Baker Street facility
- Power-assisted liposuction (VASER where applicable)
- Dissolvable sutures — no return visit for removal
- Your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours
- Wound check at 7–10 days, surgeon review at 6 weeks, and a 3-month assessment
- A dedicated patient coordinator throughout
Two things to budget separately: the compression garment is not included and is bought before surgery (worn for six weeks). Optional extras such as private prescriptions or lymphatic drainage massage aren’t part of the quote either. Everything that is included is set out in writing, so there are no surprises.
What affects the cost of male liposuction?
The number of areas treated
This is the biggest single factor. Each additional area adds surgical time, planning, and theatre resources, so the price rises step by step — from £3,900 for one area and from £7,500 for four areas or 360°. Treating the abdomen and flanks together, for example, costs less than having them done as two separate operations. Remember that the abdomen counts as two areas when treated in full, so a torso plan reaches three or four areas more quickly than most people expect.
The anaesthetic used
The entry-level figure assumes local anaesthetic, appropriate for one or two smaller areas — chin and neck being the most common. There is no anaesthetist’s fee and no fasting requirement. Where more areas are treated, the volume is greater, or you would prefer to be asleep, TIVA is used with a consultant anaesthetist present throughout, which costs more. Most male torso work and all HD Lipo is performed under TIVA.
The size of the areas and volume of fat
A large area such as the abdomen takes longer to treat than a small area such as the chin or neck, because there’s more surface to contour and more fat to remove. Larger volumes push the cost toward the upper end of each band.
Standard contouring vs HD definition
Standard power-assisted liposuction slims and flattens by removing stubborn fat. HD Lipo and abdominal etching sculpt the fat layer along the muscle lines for visible definition rather than simply removing it — a more technically demanding, considerably longer procedure requiring subspecialty training, which is why it is priced as a premium procedure. The premium is for the etching, not for the equipment: VASER itself carries no surcharge here and sits within the standard bands above when used for ordinary contouring — from £8,500 for abdomen and flanks, £11,500 for the full torso, and £13,500 comprehensively with fat transfer to the chest.
Skin laxity and add-on procedures
If skin won’t retract well after fat removal — common after significant weight loss or in older men — skin-tightening with BodyTite, or skin removal with a male tummy tuck, may be recommended alongside liposuction, which adds to the total.
Standard liposuction vs HD definition — which do you actually need?
This is the distinction that most affects both your result and your cost. Standard male liposuction removes localised fat to give a slimmer, flatter, more proportionate torso — the right choice for most men with stubborn fat on the abdomen, flanks, or chest. It starts at £3,900 for one area and is the most commonly requested option.
HD Lipo and abdominal etching are different procedures with a different goal: rather than simply removing fat, they sculpt the remaining thin fat layer along the abdominal muscle lines to reveal definition. They suit already-lean men who want a defined, athletic look, and they are priced as a premium procedure — from £8,500 for abdomen and flanks, from £11,500 for the full torso and £13,500 comprehensively with fat transfer to the chest.
It is worth being precise about what that premium is for. It is not the equipment. VASER carries no surcharge at Centre for Surgery — used for ordinary contouring it sits within the standard area-based bands above, exactly as power-assisted liposuction (PAL) does, and your surgeon selects between them on clinical grounds rather than commercial ones. What you are paying the premium for in HD Lipo is the etching itself: sculpting the residual fat layer to follow the underlying muscle anatomy is a fundamentally different and far more exacting task than removing fat evenly, it takes considerably longer in theatre, it adds Argo Plasma skin tightening to help the skin redrape over the new contours, and it is performed only by our body-contouring subspecialists. The same VASER handpiece used in a standard case adds nothing to your quote.
Male HD Lipo is priced above the equivalent female procedure, and again the reason is surgical rather than commercial. The male etching target is considerably more extensive: rectus lines, oblique borders, the serratus and the chest, across a larger torso surface area, where female HD work more typically concentrates on the abdomen and waist with softer definition. Male fat is also denser and more fibrous, which needs more VASER emulsification time before it can be sculpted accurately. More zones, more surface and more time in theatre — so the male tiers sit above the general HD Lipo pricing. The key point — and an honest one worth stating plainly — is that liposuction removes fat; it does not build muscle. If you want a flatter stomach, standard liposuction is the cost-effective route. If you want visible definition and you’re already lean, HD is the procedure designed for that. Your surgeon will tell you which fits your body and goals at consultation.
What does male liposuction involve?
Male liposuction is a day case under TIVA, taking roughly one to three hours depending on how many areas are treated. The areas are marked while you stand, small discreet incisions are made, tumescent anaesthetic solution is infused, and fat is removed with power-assisted cannulas — a gentle reciprocating motion that means less bruising and a more comfortable recovery than traditional manual liposuction. Incisions are closed with dissolvable sutures and a compression garment is applied before you wake. You go home the same day. Most men are back at a desk job within three to five days, with full exercise from six weeks.
What anaesthetic is used?
Most male liposuction at Centre for Surgery is performed under TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia), administered by a consultant anaesthetist. You’re fully asleep throughout, with a tumescent local anaesthetic solution infused into the treatment areas for comfort. TIVA gives less post-operative nausea and a smoother, faster recovery than gas-based general anaesthesia, which suits same-day discharge.
The anaesthetic is one of the main things that moves your price, so it is worth understanding before you compare quotes. The entry-level figure of £3,900 assumes local anaesthetic, which suits one or two smaller areas in appropriate patients — chin and neck liposuction being the most common example. You are awake but the treatment area is completely numb, there is no anaesthetist’s fee, and there is no fasting requirement.
Where more areas are treated, where the volume is greater, or where you would simply prefer to be asleep, the procedure is performed under TIVA with a consultant anaesthetist present throughout — and TIVA costs more. Most male torso work falls into this category, because abdomen, flanks and chest together are rarely a small-volume case. HD Lipo and abdominal etching are always performed under TIVA. Your written quotation states which applies to you.
Is male liposuction available on the NHS?
No. Liposuction for body contouring is a cosmetic procedure, so it isn’t funded by the NHS and isn’t covered by private medical insurance. It’s a self-funded treatment — which is why finance is worth knowing about if you’d rather spread the cost.
Can you pay for male liposuction on finance?
You can pay in full or spread the cost with finance through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Plans and a representative example are on our finance options page, and a patient coordinator can talk you through them on 020 7993 4849.

Is male liposuction worth the cost?
For men at or near their target weight who have stubborn fat that won’t shift with diet and training, liposuction directly removes those fat cells — and the cells removed don’t return. The value depends on having realistic expectations: it’s a contouring procedure, not a weight-loss tool, and maintaining a stable weight afterwards is what preserves the result. Whether it’s worth it for you depends on your specific areas, skin quality, and goals, which a plastic surgeon will assess honestly at consultation rather than over the phone.

Male liposuction cost FAQs
How much does male liposuction cost in the UK in 2026?
At Centre for Surgery in London, male liposuction starts from £3,900 for one area, from £5,500 for two areas, from £6,500 for three areas, and from £7,500 for four areas or 360°. HD Lipo and abdominal etching (VASER + power-assisted lipo + Argo Plasma for muscle definition) are priced as a premium procedure: from £8,500 for abdomen and flanks, £11,500 for the full torso, and £13,500 comprehensively with fat transfer to the chest. Areas are counted by anatomical zone, so a full abdomen is two areas. The entry-level figure assumes local anaesthetic, suitable for one or two smaller areas; TIVA with a consultant anaesthetist costs more and applies to most multi-area torso work and to all HD Lipo. Your exact price is confirmed after examination at consultation.
How much does liposuction for men cost, and is it different from “male liposuction”?
No difference at all — “liposuction for men” and “male liposuction” are simply two ways of searching for the same procedure. The pricing above applies either way: from £3,900 for one area, rising with the number of areas treated and whether standard or HD sculpting is used.
Why does the price go up with more areas?
Each additional area adds surgical time, planning, and theatre resources. Areas are counted by anatomical zone — the upper and lower abdomen count separately, while paired structures such as both flanks count as one area between them. Treating several areas in one session is still more cost-effective than having them done as separate operations, and means a single recovery period.
What’s the difference in cost between standard liposuction and HD Lipo?
Standard liposuction contouring removes stubborn fat for a flatter shape and starts at £3,900 for one area. HD Lipo and abdominal etching sculpt the residual fat layer to follow the underlying muscle anatomy, using VASER and Argo Plasma alongside power-assisted liposuction, priced from £8,500 for abdomen and flanks, £11,500 for the full torso, and £13,500 comprehensively with fat transfer to the chest. The premium is for the etching rather than the equipment: VASER carries no surcharge here and sits within the standard area-based bands when used for ordinary contouring. What costs more is the sculpting itself — a considerably longer and more exacting procedure, with Argo Plasma skin tightening added, performed only by our body-contouring subspecialists. Male HD Lipo is priced above the equivalent female procedure because the male etching target covers more zones — rectus lines, oblique borders, serratus and chest — across a larger torso, and male fat is denser and more fibrous, needing more VASER emulsification time before it can be sculpted accurately. Liposuction removes fat; it doesn’t build muscle, so HD suits already-lean men seeking definition.
Does the anaesthetic change the price?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons two quotes differ. The entry-level figure of £3,900 assumes local anaesthetic, which suits one or two smaller areas in appropriate patients — chin and neck liposuction being the most common example. You are awake but completely numb, there is no anaesthetist’s fee, and no fasting is required. Where more areas are treated, the volume is greater, or you would prefer to be asleep, the procedure is performed under TIVA with a consultant anaesthetist present throughout, which costs more. Most male torso work falls into this category, since abdomen, flanks and chest together are rarely small-volume, and HD Lipo and abdominal etching are always performed under TIVA. Your written quotation states which applies to you.
Is the compression garment included in the price?
No. The compression garment is purchased separately before surgery and worn continuously for six weeks to support healing and the final contour. Your patient coordinator advises on the correct garment at your pre-operative assessment.
How much is male liposuction per month on finance?
You can pay in full or spread the cost with finance through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Plans and a representative example are on our finance options page, and a patient coordinator can talk you through them on 020 7993 4849.
Is male liposuction available on the NHS?
No — liposuction for body contouring is cosmetic, so it isn’t NHS-funded or covered by private insurance. It’s a self-funded procedure, which is why finance is available.
How much fat can be removed?
Up to around five litres in a single session, though the goal is improved contour rather than a target weight. Liposuction is a contouring procedure, not a weight-loss solution — ideal candidates are already at or near their target weight with localised stubborn fat.
Will the fat come back?
The fat cells removed are gone permanently. However, significant weight gain afterwards can cause the remaining fat cells to expand and change the result, so maintaining a stable weight is the key to a lasting outcome.
