A nose job in Turkey typically costs between £2,500 and £4,500 as an all-inclusive package, against roughly £7,000 to £10,000 in the UK. That is a real difference and there is no point pretending otherwise.
We are a London clinic, so you would expect us to argue against going. What follows tries to be more useful than that: the actual numbers, what the price gap does and does not buy, the situations where going abroad works out, and the specific costs that people do not build into the sum.
The honest summary: plenty of people have a nose job in Turkey and are pleased with it. The difficulty is not the surgery week. It is the eleven months afterwards, and what happens if something needs putting right. The same logic applies to every procedure taken abroad; our guide to the mummy makeover abroad works through it for combined breast and tummy surgery, where the stakes are higher still.
Key Points
- Rhinoplasty in Turkey typically costs a fraction of the UK price. That gap is real and it has real explanations — currency, cost of living, government subsidy, and volume — not all of which are sinister.
- The number of British patients going abroad is rising sharply. ONS figures show 523,000 UK residents travelled overseas for medical treatment in 2024, up from 431,000 in 2023 and 348,000 in 2022 — a 50% rise in two years. Turkey accounts for roughly 200,000 of those visits, more than any other destination.
- So this is not a fringe decision, and treating everyone who considers it as reckless is neither accurate nor useful.
- What the price does not usually buy is the parts that matter when something goes wrong — an in-person consultation before you commit, a named surgeon you can verify, a cooling-off period, and accessible aftercare once you are home.
- Revision rhinoplasty is harder than primary rhinoplasty and costs more. The same is true after implant surgery abroad, which our guide to breast augmentation in Turkey covers. If a Turkish result needs revising in the UK, the total frequently exceeds what UK surgery would have cost at the outset.
- The single most useful thing you can do is ask the same questions you would ask any UK surgeon: who exactly is operating, what are their credentials, what happens if I need a revision, and who pays for it.
How Much Is a Nose Job in Turkey? Rhinoplasty Prices Compared
Typical 2026 pricing for UK patients:
- Turkey package — £2,500 to £4,500, usually including surgery, anaesthetic, a hospital night, hotel and airport transfers
- Flights — £150 to £400 return, more in season
- Extra nights, meals, a companion — £300 to £800
- Time off work — usually two weeks, and longer than a UK procedure because of travel
Realistic total: around £3,000 to £5,500.
UK rhinoplasty runs approximately £7,000 to £10,000 depending on complexity, with no travel and no accommodation. See rhinoplasty cost.
So the genuine saving is roughly £3,000 to £5,000. Worth knowing precisely, because the decision should be made against the real number rather than the advertised one.
Why rhinoplasty in Turkey is cheaper
Not because corners are necessarily cut. Turkish surgeons are paid less, facility and staffing costs are lower, the lira is weak against sterling, and the sheer volume of medical tourism creates competition. Some Turkish rhinoplasty surgeons operate at very high volume and are technically excellent.
The saving is mostly real economics, not necessarily reduced quality. Where it goes wrong is usually the parts of care that happen after you have flown home.
What the Price Difference Actually Buys
The package price covers the operation. What it does not cover is the year that follows.
Aftercare once you are home. Rhinoplasty needs review at a week, six weeks, three months and a year. A Turkish clinic will offer photographs and video calls. What it cannot do is examine your nose, take out a stitch that has not dissolved, drain a collection, or look inside with an endoscope.
Local help if something goes wrong. Infection, bleeding, a septal haematoma or a breathing problem needs seeing in person and quickly. In the UK that means A&E or a GP, who will treat the emergency but will not take over your rhinoplasty care.
Revision. This is the number that changes the arithmetic. Revision rhinoplasty in the UK typically costs £12,000 to £20,000 — more than primary surgery because scar tissue makes the anatomy unpredictable and cartilage often has to be taken from ear or rib.
A saving of £4,000 becomes a loss of £10,000 the moment a revision is needed. That is not a scare tactic, it is subtraction. Revision rates after primary rhinoplasty run at roughly 5 to 15% anywhere in the world, so it is not a remote possibility. See nose job gone wrong.
The Timeline Nobody Plans For
People plan the trip carefully and the year hardly at all.
Days 0 to 7 go well as a rule. You are in the country, the clinic is attentive, the splint comes off before you fly home.
Weeks 2 to 6 are when questions start. Is this swelling normal? Should it look like this? Why is one side more blocked? These are ordinary questions with reassuring answers — but you need someone who can look at your nose to give them.
Months 3 to 12 are when the result actually emerges. Swelling settles, shape appears, and any real problem becomes visible. See rhinoplasty swelling.
Month 12 onwards is when a revision decision is made — and by then, going back is usually impractical.
Flying itself matters. Cabin pressure changes increase swelling, and flying within the first week after nasal surgery is generally discouraged. Most Turkish packages have you flying home at around day seven, which is the earliest acceptable point rather than a comfortable one.
Is It Safe to Get a Nose Job in Turkey?
The honest answer is that safety is not a property of the country — it is a property of the individual surgeon, the facility, and the arrangements around your care. Turkey has genuinely excellent rhinoplasty surgeons, some of them internationally regarded, and Istanbul performs a very high volume of nose surgery. It also has clinics whose marketing is considerably better than their surgery.
The difficulty for a patient sitting in the UK is that you cannot easily tell which is which. In the UK you can check a surgeon on the GMC register, confirm their specialist registration, look up the clinic’s CQC report, and meet them face to face before committing. Those verification routes either do not exist or are not readable from here for an overseas clinic, which is what makes the decision hard — not the nationality of the surgeon.
Two structural factors are worth understanding. Turkish medical tourism is actively supported at government level, including subsidy of marketing to international patients, which means the volume of advertising you see is not a signal of quality. And in 2024 the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority issued an enforcement notice on the advertising of cosmetic surgery abroad, after finding that providers were trivialising the decision to have surgery and failing to be transparent about what was involved.
So: not unsafe by definition, but considerably harder to verify, with an advertising environment designed to make verification feel unnecessary.
Which Country Is Best for Rhinoplasty?
There is no single answer, but there is a useful way to frame it. The best place for your rhinoplasty is wherever you can satisfy all four of these:
- You can verify the surgeon’s identity, qualifications and specialist registration independently, before paying.
- You meet that specific surgeon — not a coordinator — before the day of surgery, with time to reconsider.
- You know exactly who is responsible for complications, and what it costs, before you travel.
- You can physically get back to them for follow-up during the twelve months that rhinoplasty takes to settle.
For most UK patients that points home, simply because the fourth condition is very hard to meet from 1,800 miles away. But the framework matters more than the flag — a UK clinic that cannot satisfy those four points is not a safer choice merely for being local.
When Rhinoplasty in Turkey Does Work
It would be dishonest to say it never does.
It works better when the surgery is straightforward rather than revision or complex reconstruction; when you have researched the individual surgeon rather than the clinic’s marketing; when you can stay ten to fourteen days rather than seven; when you have a UK GP willing to help with routine wound care; and when you could afford a UK revision if you needed one.
It works badly when you are choosing on price alone; when it is revision surgery, which needs continuity above all; when you cannot name your surgeon; when the package is unusually cheap; and when you are flying home at day five.
Ask Before You Book Anywhere
- Who is the named surgeon? Not the clinic — the individual who will operate. If you cannot get a name before paying a deposit, that is your answer.
- How many rhinoplasties do they perform? Volume matters more in rhinoplasty than almost any other procedure.
- Can I speak to them before I fly? A video consultation with the actual surgeon, not a coordinator.
- What happens if I develop an infection at home? Ask for the specific plan, not reassurance.
- Who pays for revision, and for how long? Get it in writing, including whether flights are covered.
- Is the hospital accredited, and by whom?
- What insurance covers me there? Standard travel insurance excludes elective surgery abroad, and most policies will not cover complications from it either.
- Who do I call at 3am in week two? The most revealing question on the list.
If You Have Already Had Surgery Abroad
If you are reading this after the fact and something is worrying you, a few practical points.
Urgent problems go to A&E — spreading redness, fever, heavy bleeding, worsening pain, or skin turning white or dusky. UK emergency care treats you regardless of where surgery happened.
Do not judge the result before twelve months. Most of what looks wrong at eight weeks is swelling.
Get your operation notes from the Turkish clinic while communication is still easy. Any UK surgeon assessing you later will want to know exactly what was done, and obtaining records a year on is considerably harder.
We do take on revision cases from surgery performed abroad, and we assess them the same way as any other — including telling you where revision would achieve less than you hope.
Rhinoplasty in the UK at Centre for Surgery
If you decide to have surgery here, this is what the fee covers: consultation with the surgeon who will operate, the procedure at our own CQC-regulated facility on Baker Street, TIVA anaesthesia, all post-operative reviews through the first year, and direct access to your surgeon if something concerns you.
We are not the cheapest option and we are not trying to be. What we can offer is the same surgeon from consultation through to your twelve-month review, in the same city.
All surgery is performed by GMC-registered surgeons at 95–97 Baker Street, Marylebone. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and rated Good overall. We recommend a two-week cooling-off period before any surgery is booked.
Finance is available through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status — which for some people closes the gap with a Turkish package. See finance options.
Nose Job in Turkey FAQs
How much is a nose job in Turkey in pounds?
Typically £2,500 to £4,500 for an all-inclusive package. Adding flights, extra nights and incidentals, the realistic total is around £3,000 to £5,500.
How much is rhinoplasty in Turkey compared with the UK?
Turkey is roughly £3,000 to £5,000 cheaper once travel is included. UK rhinoplasty runs around £7,000 to £10,000 depending on complexity.
Why is a nose job in Turkey so cheap?
Lower surgeon and facility costs, a weak lira against sterling, and intense competition from high medical tourism volume. The saving is mostly economic rather than a reflection of surgical quality.
Is Turkey safe for rhinoplasty?
There are excellent rhinoplasty surgeons in Turkey and many patients do well. The risk is less about the operation and more about aftercare, continuity, and what happens if a complication or revision arises once you are home.
What happens if my nose job in Turkey goes wrong?
Urgent complications are treated by the NHS. Correcting an unsatisfactory result means revision rhinoplasty, usually privately in the UK, typically £12,000 to £20,000. Some Turkish clinics offer revision, though you would need to travel again and cover flights.
Does travel insurance cover surgery abroad?
Standard travel insurance excludes elective surgery and usually excludes complications arising from it. Specialist medical tourism policies exist but read the exclusions closely.
How long should I stay in Turkey after a nose job?
Packages typically include seven days. Ten to fourteen is safer — it lets swelling settle before flying and means you are still there if anything needs attention in the first fortnight.
Can I fly home a week after rhinoplasty?
It is generally the earliest acceptable point. Cabin pressure changes increase swelling and discomfort, and flying sooner is discouraged.
Will a UK surgeon take over my aftercare?
Often not. Most UK surgeons are reluctant to assume responsibility for an operation they did not perform and cannot verify. Your GP will help with routine wound care.
Is revision rhinoplasty available in Turkey?
Yes, but revision is the situation where continuity matters most. Doing complex revision at distance, with limited follow-up, compounds the original difficulty.
What should I ask a Turkish clinic before booking?
The name of the surgeon, their rhinoplasty volume, whether you can speak to them directly before flying, the written revision policy, hospital accreditation, and the specific plan if you develop a complication at home.
Do you treat patients who had surgery in Turkey?
Yes. We assess revision cases from surgery performed abroad the same way as any other, including being honest where revision would deliver less improvement than hoped.
How common is revision after rhinoplasty?
Roughly 5 to 15% of primary rhinoplasty patients seek revision, anywhere in the world. It is not a remote possibility, which is why the cost of revision belongs in the original sum.
Is it worth going to Turkey for a nose job?
It depends on the complexity of your case, how much research you have done on the individual surgeon, whether you can stay long enough, and whether you could afford a UK revision if it came to that. For straightforward surgery with thorough preparation it can work. For revision or complex cases, it rarely does.
