A thigh lift (thighplasty) at Centre for Surgery starts from £6,500 for a mini thigh lift and from £7,500 for a full thigh lift. Where your surgeon recommends liposuction of the inner thighs at the same session, it is included in your written quote, so there’s no separate liposuction charge. Your exact price is confirmed in writing after your in-person consultation.
A thigh lift removes loose, hanging skin and excess fat from the inner thigh — the only effective fix for skin that chafes, folds or sags and won’t tighten with exercise, usually following weight loss or ageing. The cost depends mainly on how much loose skin you have and how far down the thigh it extends, which decides whether you need a mini or full procedure. This 2026 guide breaks down the price, what’s included, what drives the final figure, the mini-vs-full decision, and how to spread the payments.
How much does a thigh lift cost in London?

A thigh lift is performed as a day case under TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia), taking around two to three hours for a bilateral inner thigh lift.
A price tells you what a thigh lift costs, not what the scar looks like or how it settles. Our thigh lift before and after photos show real patient results, and how to read these photos explains what to look for.
What’s included in the price — and what’s extra
The quoted price at Centre for Surgery is a single, transparent package covering:
- As many pre-operative consultations with your surgeon as you need
- Pre-operative medical assessment
- The surgeon’s fee, the consultant anaesthetist (TIVA), and theatre time at our CQC-regulated Baker Street facility
- Liposuction of the inner thighs where your surgeon recommends it, using power-assisted liposuction (PAL) or VASER depending on your tissue
- Dissolvable sutures throughout — no removal appointment
- Same-day discharge and your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours
- Wound check at 7–10 days, surgeon review at 6 weeks, and a 3-month assessment
- A dedicated patient coordinator throughout
Two things are charged separately and confirmed in advance: your compression garments and any prescribed medications. The £100 consultation fee is redeemable against the procedure if you proceed.
What affects the cost of a thigh lift?
Three factors move the price:
- Technique: a mini thigh lift removes less skin through a short groin-crease incision, so it sits lower than a full thigh lift, which adds a vertical incision down the inner thigh to remove skin along the full length.
- How far the laxity extends: looseness confined to the upper inner thigh near the groin can be addressed with a mini lift; looseness extending toward the knee needs the full vertical technique.
- Combined surgery: treating the thighs alone is more straightforward than combining the thigh lift with a tummy tuck or lower body lift in the same session, which is common after major weight loss.
Mini or full thigh lift — which do I need, and what does it cost?
This is the main thing that decides your price, and it comes down to how much loose skin you have and where it sits:
- Mini thigh lift (from £6,500): the incision is confined to the groin crease, hidden by underwear and swimwear. It suits mild to moderate looseness concentrated in the upper inner thigh near the groin.
- Full thigh lift (from £7,500): adds a vertical incision running from the groin crease down the inner thigh. It’s the right choice for moderate-to-severe looseness extending toward the knee — most common after significant weight loss.
- Outer / lateral thigh lift (at consultation): for looseness on the front and outer thigh, often combined with a lower body lift after major weight loss.
Your surgeon assesses how far the laxity extends at consultation and recommends the technique that will actually give the result you want — a mini lift chosen to save money disappoints if the looseness reaches below the upper third of the thigh.
Do I need a thigh lift, or just liposuction?
It depends on your skin. If you have good skin elasticity and the main issue is excess fat, thigh liposuction alone may be enough — the skin retracts over the new contour, and that’s priced as a standalone procedure (see the liposuction cost guide). But where the skin is already loose, liposuction on its own won’t tighten it — and can make loose skin look worse by removing the volume underneath. In that case a thigh lift is needed to remove the excess skin. Helpfully, where your surgeon recommends liposuction of the inner thighs alongside a thigh lift at Centre for Surgery, it is included in your written quote, so you’re not charged twice. Either power-assisted liposuction or VASER lipo is used, chosen on how your tissue behaves — the inner thigh is a thin-skinned area where VASER’s skin retraction can be useful.
Thigh lift after weight loss — and combining procedures
Loose inner thigh skin is one of the most common concerns after major weight loss, because the skin permanently loses its elasticity once the underlying fat is gone. Many weight-loss patients have looseness in more than one area, so a thigh lift is often planned alongside a tummy tuck, arm lift, or lower body lift. Combining procedures means one anaesthetic and one recovery — but it increases operative time, so your surgeon will advise whether combining is appropriate for you or whether staging is safer. For weight-loss patients, weight should be stable for at least six months before surgery for a predictable result. See the mummy makeover and arm lift cost guides for combined options.
Is a thigh lift available on the NHS?
Thigh lift surgery for cosmetic reasons isn’t funded by the NHS, and private medical insurance doesn’t generally cover it. Where excess inner thigh skin causes documented functional problems — persistent skin infections, chafing rashes or hygiene difficulty in the skin fold that hasn’t responded to other treatment — some patients may be eligible for NHS consideration on clinical grounds, subject to local policies, and your GP can advise. As a cosmetic procedure it’s self-funded, which is why finance is a popular option.
Can you pay for a thigh lift on finance?
You can pay in full or spread the cost with finance through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Plans and a representative example are on our finance options page, and a patient coordinator can talk you through them on 020 7993 4849.

Is it cheaper to go abroad for a thigh lift?
Lower headline prices are advertised overseas, but the figure rarely tells the whole story. A thigh lift is a high-tension wound at the inner thigh, where wound breakdown is the main complication risk — so the quality of surgical technique, aftercare and follow-up matters a great deal. Travelling soon after surgery also raises the risk of blood clots, and if a problem develops once you’re home, you’re a long flight away from the surgeon who treated you. NHS England has warned about the burden of treating complications from cosmetic surgery performed abroad, which often falls back on the NHS. A UK procedure means your surgeon is GMC-registered, your hospital is CQC-regulated, and your aftercare and any revision are handled in one place. Price is one factor — it shouldn’t be the only one.
Why choose Centre for Surgery for a thigh lift?
- GMC-registered surgeons: all thigh lift surgery is performed by GMC-registered surgeons — not non-specialist practitioners.
- Liposuction included where recommended: power-assisted liposuction or VASER, refining the thigh contour before the skin is tightened.
- Technique matched to your anatomy: mini, full vertical, or outer/lateral — chosen for how far your looseness extends.
- TIVA anaesthesia for a smoother day-case recovery than traditional gas-based general anaesthetic.
- Close inner-thigh wound care: more frequent dressing checks than other body contouring, because the inner thigh is a high-tension healing area.
- CQC-regulated hospital rated “Good” by the Care Quality Commission, with a two-week cooling-off period and finance.

Frequently Asked Questions: Thigh lift cost
How much does a thigh lift cost in the UK in 2026?
At Centre for Surgery in London, a mini thigh lift starts from £6,500 and a full thigh lift (vertical technique) from £7,500. An outer or lateral thigh lift is priced at consultation. All prices include all follow-up appointments, and liposuction of the inner thighs where your surgeon recommends it.
Why is a full thigh lift more expensive than a mini one?
A full thigh lift removes significantly more skin along a vertical incision running down the inner thigh, takes longer in theatre, and addresses more extensive looseness. A mini thigh lift removes less skin through a short groin-crease incision, so it sits at a lower price point.
What’s included in the price?
The package covers your surgeon’s fee, the consultant anaesthetist (TIVA), theatre and facility fees, liposuction of the inner thighs where recommended, dissolvable sutures, your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours, a wound check, a 6-week surgeon review and a 3-month assessment. Compression garments and prescribed medications are charged separately.
Is liposuction included in the thigh lift price?
Yes, where your surgeon recommends it. Liposuction of the inner thighs at the same session is included in your written quote, using either power-assisted liposuction or VASER, so there’s no separate thigh liposuction charge on top of the thigh lift.
Do I need a mini or full thigh lift?
It depends on how far the loose skin extends. A mini lift suits looseness near the groin and keeps the scar in the groin crease; a full lift is needed where looseness extends down toward the knee, adding a vertical inner-thigh scar. Your surgeon assesses this at consultation.
How much is a thigh lift per month on finance?
You can pay in full or spread the cost with finance through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Plans and a representative example are on our finance options page, and a patient coordinator can talk you through them on 020 7993 4849.
Do I need a thigh lift or just liposuction?
If your skin elasticity is good and the issue is mainly fat, liposuction alone may be enough. If the skin is already loose, liposuction won’t tighten it — and can make it look worse — so a thigh lift is needed to remove the excess skin. Where your surgeon recommends liposuction alongside a thigh lift, it is included in your written quote.
Is a thigh lift available on the NHS?
Not for cosmetic reasons. NHS funding may be considered where excess skin causes documented functional problems such as recurrent infections or chafing rashes, on clinical grounds and subject to local policies. Otherwise it’s self-funded privately and not covered by insurance.
