Liposuction at Centre for Surgery starts from £3,900, rising with the number of areas treated. Liposuction prices UK-wide vary considerably between clinics, and liposuction costs are built up differently by each of them — what follows is how ours works, in full.
We are not able to quote you accurately from this page, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What you pay depends on how many areas are involved, how large they are, the volume of fat, the anaesthetic used and whether anything else is done at the same time. Two people asking for “abdomen and flanks” can be quoted different figures for good clinical reasons.
What this page can do is explain how the price is built up, so that nothing at consultation comes as a surprise. If you want a realistic figure before paying for a consultation, phone us on 020 7993 4849, describe the areas you are considering, and we will talk it through.
How areas are counted
This is the part that most often causes a mismatch between what someone expects and what they are quoted, so it is worth reading properly. Your BMI matters too: the band prices assume a BMI around 25 or below, and a higher BMI means more volume to remove across a larger surface area within the same zone, which moves the quote up. Areas are counted by anatomical zone, not by body region.
- The upper abdomen and the lower abdomen count separately. A tummy treated in full is two areas, not one.
- Paired structures count as one area between them. Both flanks together are one area, as are both inner thighs, both outer thighs, both upper arms, both knees and both calves.
- 360° liposuction covers the abdomen, flanks and lower back as one circumferential treatment.
So a full tummy plus both flanks is three areas — upper abdomen, lower abdomen, flanks. Someone expecting that to be two will be surprised by the quotation, which is precisely what we are trying to avoid.
How the anaesthetic affects your price
The entry-level figure assumes local anaesthetic, which suits one or two smaller areas in appropriate patients — the chin and neck being the most common example.
Where more areas are treated, where the volume is greater, or where you would prefer to be asleep, the procedure is performed under TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia) with a consultant anaesthetist present throughout. TIVA costs more. Your written quotation states which applies to you.
What else moves the price
- How large each area is. A chin and a full back are both “one area” and are not remotely the same undertaking.
- The volume and density of the fat. Fibrous fat takes longer to treat.
- Skin quality. Where laxity means a tummy tuck, arm lift or thigh lift is the better answer, that is a different procedure at a different price.
- Whether anything is combined. Doing two things under one anaesthetic costs less than two separate operations.
- Revision work. Correcting a previous result is harder than a first procedure and is always quoted individually.
Liposuction prices: guide range
With all of the above understood, this is the broad shape of it. These are the lowest figures each band starts at, not typical prices and not quotations.
| Number of areas | Starts from |
|---|---|
| One area | from £3,900 |
| Two areas | from £5,500 |
| Three areas | from £6,500 |
| Four areas or 360° liposuction | from £7,500 |

These are our London prices. Liposuction prices UK-wide sit either side of this range depending on the city, the facility and who is operating, so treat any comparison figure as a starting point for questions rather than a like-for-like number. Chin and neck liposuction is quoted separately, from £3,500 — see the chin liposuction cost guide. Larger areas, greater volumes and TIVA all sit above the figures shown.
Pricing by area is a convenient shorthand. It is not how a result is judged. See our liposuction before and after photos, and how to read these photos, which explains why posture, lighting and the stage of healing change a photograph more than the number of areas treated.
VASER lipo cost: does VASER liposuction cost more than standard liposuction?
No — not here. VASER lipo cost is the same as standard liposuction at Centre for Surgery: VASER (ultrasound-assisted liposuction) sits within the same area-based bands rather than carrying its own premium, so the VASER lipo price you are quoted depends on how many areas are treated, not on the technique. That is not universal — VASER lipo cost UK-wide is often quoted at a premium over standard liposuction, so it is worth asking any clinic directly whether the technique changes their figure. Your surgeon selects power-assisted liposuction (PAL) or VASER, or a combination, based on the area and your skin and fat quality — not according to which one costs more. VASER suits fibrous areas such as the back and is used within HD Lipo for athletic definition, but choosing it doesn’t change your quote. If you have seen VASER quoted noticeably higher elsewhere, that is usually a clinic pricing it as a separate upgraded procedure — worth asking directly.

Why is liposuction cheaper abroad — and is it worth it?
Searching for the cheapest liposuction UK patients can find usually leads abroad, and headline prices there can look lower — but the true total is rarely just the surgical fee. Once you add flights, accommodation, time off work, and the cost and difficulty of follow-up care once you are home, the gap narrows quickly. If a result needs correcting, revision surgery in the UK can cost more than having the procedure done properly here in the first place. Standards of regulation also vary between countries.
What liposuction techniques does Centre for Surgery use?
- Power-assisted liposuction (PAL): the standard here — a vibrating cannula separates fat mechanically without heat, followed by a fat-equalisation step that smooths the result.
- VASER (ultrasound-assisted): useful in fibrous areas like the back, and in high-definition liposuction for athletic sculpting.
- BodyTite: radiofrequency-assisted, removing fat while tightening skin — useful for mild to moderate laxity without a formal lift, and may affect the price where used.
- 360° liposuction: circumferential contouring of the abdomen, flanks and lower back as one zone.
Fat removed can also be repurposed — transferred to the buttocks as part of a Brazilian Butt Lift or to the breasts via fat transfer — rather than discarded.
Is liposuction available on the NHS?
Liposuction is a cosmetic body-contouring procedure, so it isn’t normally available on the NHS. In specific medical cases — such as lipoedema or lymphoedema-related swelling — NHS treatment may be considered against clinical criteria.
Can you pay for liposuction on finance?
You can pay in full or spread the cost with finance through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Plans and a representative example are on our finance options page, and a patient coordinator can talk you through them on 020 7993 4849.
Your written quote comes first, and your patient coordinator can talk you through the plans at your consultation.

Liposuction cost and prices FAQs
How much is liposuction in the UK in 2026?
Liposuction cost UK-wide varies by clinic, city and technique. At Centre for Surgery in London, liposuction starts from £3,900, with the final price depending on the number and size of areas and the anaesthetic used. We can’t quote accurately without seeing you — phone 020 7993 4849 to talk through a realistic figure for what you are considering.
How are areas counted?
By anatomical zone. The upper and lower abdomen count separately, so a full tummy is two areas. Paired structures count as one area between them — both flanks together are one area, as are both inner thighs, both upper arms and so on. A full tummy plus both flanks is therefore three areas.
Does my BMI affect the cost of liposuction?
Yes, and more directly than for skin-removal surgery, because with liposuction you are paying for fat removal itself. The band prices assume a BMI in the region of 25 or below, where the fat layer is moderate and the treatment areas are a normal size. A higher BMI means a greater volume to remove across a larger surface area within the same anatomical zone, which adds theatre time and moves the quote up.
There is also a practical ceiling. Liposuction is a contouring procedure, not a weight-loss tool, and only so much fat can safely be removed in a single session — beyond that limit the risks rise steeply and the result is poorer, not better. Above a BMI of 30 the quote moves up meaningfully, and above 35 we will generally recommend weight loss before surgery rather than operating. That is a safety judgement rather than a pricing one.
The practical point is that this is the one variable you control. Reaching a stable weight nearer BMI 25 before surgery can move you into a lower band, and it produces a better result — liposuction removes fat, but it relies on your skin retracting over the smaller contour, and skin retracts better when there is less volume removed and less prior stretch. Weight should then be stable for around six months before proceeding, since further loss afterwards can leave laxity that liposuction alone cannot correct.
Does liposuction cost more after major weight loss?
Often, but for a specific reason: after significant weight loss the problem is usually loose skin rather than fat, and liposuction does not treat loose skin. Removing fat from an area where the skin has permanently lost elastic recoil can leave it looking emptier and more lax, not better. Post-weight-loss patients are frequently better served by a skin-excision procedure — a tummy tuck, arm lift or thigh lift — which sits in a higher price bracket because it is a bigger operation.
Where there is genuinely residual fat with reasonable skin quality, liposuction remains appropriate and is priced by the same bands as anyone else. Your surgeon assesses skin elasticity at consultation and will tell you directly if liposuction alone will not give you the result you want.
Does the anaesthetic change the price?
Yes. The entry-level figure assumes local anaesthetic, which suits one or two smaller areas in appropriate patients. Where more areas are treated, the volume is greater, or you would prefer to be asleep, TIVA with a consultant anaesthetist is used, which costs more. Your quotation states which applies.
Why can’t you just tell me the price?
The honest answer depends on things we can only assess in person — how large each area actually is, the volume and density of the fat, your skin quality, and whether liposuction alone is even the right procedure for you. Publishing a fixed figure would be easier for us and misleading for you. That is also why liposuction costs quoted online rarely match what people are eventually charged — the number is usually an entry price for one small area, not a plan. What we can do is talk it through on the phone and give you a realistic range before you commit to anything.
How much does VASER lipo cost?
VASER lipo cost at Centre for Surgery is the same as standard liposuction — from £3,900 for one area. The VASER lipo price follows the number of areas treated, not the technique, so choosing VASER does not add to your quote here. Elsewhere it often does, so check before comparing figures.
Does VASER cost more than standard liposuction?
Not here. VASER sits within the same bands as power-assisted liposuction; the technique is chosen clinically rather than commercially. Some clinics do price VASER as a separate premium procedure, so check what any comparison quote actually covers.
What’s included in the price?
Your surgeon’s fee, theatre and facility fees, your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours, wound check at 7–10 days, surgeon review at 6 weeks, a 3-month assessment, and a dedicated coordinator. Where TIVA is used, the consultant anaesthetist’s fee is included. The £100 consultation is redeemable against the procedure. The compression garment is not included and is purchased separately before surgery, worn for six weeks.
How much is liposuction for the stomach or abdomen?
The upper and lower abdomen count separately, so a full tummy is two areas rather than one. Adding both flanks makes three. Where there is loose abdominal skin as well as fat, a tummy tuck may be recommended instead or alongside — a different procedure at a different price.
How much is chin (double chin) liposuction?
Chin and neck liposuction is quoted separately, from £3,500, and is one of the few areas that can be done under local anaesthetic. See the chin liposuction cost guide.
What is the cheapest liposuction in the UK?
We are not the cheapest liposuction UK option and would not claim to be. Liposuction prices in the UK run from around £2,000 at the low end to £10,000 and above, and the cheapest quotes usually differ from ours in specific, checkable ways: who operates on you, whether an anaesthetist is present, whether the facility is CQC-registered for surgery, and what happens if something needs correcting.
If you are comparing liposuction costs between clinics, ask each of them four questions. Is the surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register, and can you see their entry? Is the anaesthetist a consultant? What exactly does the quoted figure include — and specifically, does it include revision surgery if the result is uneven? And how many areas is that price for, counted how?
A cheaper quote is not automatically a worse one. But a quote that is cheaper because it omits the anaesthetist, uses a non-specialist operator, or excludes follow-up is not the same product at a lower price. It is a different product.
Is liposuction cheaper abroad?
The headline price can look lower, but once you add flights, accommodation, time off, and the cost of follow-up or revision care back in the UK, the saving often disappears. Regulation also varies between countries.
Is liposuction available on the NHS?
Not for cosmetic reasons. It may be considered in specific medical cases such as lipoedema or lymphoedema, assessed against NHS clinical criteria.
