Pectoral implant surgery at Centre for Surgery in London costs from £9,500 for standard bilateral augmentation. Custom-made implants — used for reconstructive cases such as Poland’s Syndrome and Pectus Excavatum — start from £14,000, since the implant is manufactured to match a specific chest. This 2026 guide explains exactly what’s included in that price, what pushes it up, how the cosmetic and reconstructive routes differ, and how finance can spread the cost.
All pectoral implant surgery here is performed by a GMC-registered consultant plastic surgeon who subspecialises in body contouring, under TIVA as a day case at our CQC-regulated Baker Street facility.
How much do pectoral implants cost in London?
Pectoral implants use solid silicone devices placed through a hidden incision in the armpit. The cost depends mainly on whether you need a standard off-the-shelf implant or a custom-made one:
| Type | Who it’s for | Indicative cost |
|---|---|---|
| Standard bilateral pectoral augmentation | Most cosmetic cases | from £9,500 |
| Custom-made implants | Poland’s Syndrome, Pectus Excavatum, chest wall deformities | from £14,000 |

Your exact price is confirmed in writing after a face-to-face consultation with your surgeon, who assesses your chest dimensions and goals before quoting. The £100 consultation fee is redeemable in full against your procedure cost if you proceed.
A price cannot show you the result. Our pectoral implant before and after photos show patients treated at Baker Street, and how to read these photos explains what a photograph of a chest can and cannot tell you.
What’s included in the price
The £9,500 quote is a comprehensive package, not a surgeon’s fee with extras added later. It covers:
- As many pre-operative consultations with your surgeon as you need
- Full pre-operative medical assessment
- The surgeon’s fee, the anaesthetist’s fee, and TIVA
- The solid silicone implants themselves (standard range — Polytech or equivalent premium manufacturer)
- Day-case theatre time at our CQC-regulated Baker Street facility
- No-touch implant insertion technique
- Dissolvable sutures — no return visit for removal
- Your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours
- Wound check and drain removal at 7–10 days, surgeon review at 6 weeks, and a 3-month assessment
- A dedicated patient coordinator throughout
One thing to budget separately: the compression garment is not included and must be bought before surgery. It’s worn continuously for six weeks to support the healing pocket and stabilise the implant. Custom-made implants also carry an additional fabrication cost on top of the surgical fee.
What affects the cost of pectoral implants?
- Standard or custom implants: the biggest factor. Standard off-the-shelf implants suit most cosmetic patients and are covered by the £9,500 starting price. Custom implants — made from a chest mould or CT scan for Poland’s Syndrome, Pectus Excavatum, or other deformities — add a fabrication cost and take weeks to manufacture.
- Cosmetic or reconstructive: reconstructive cases are typically more complex to plan and almost always need custom implants, placing them above the standard cosmetic price.
- One side or both: bilateral augmentation is the standard quote; unilateral or asymmetric correction (for example to balance one underdeveloped side) is assessed individually.
- Combined procedures: pectoral implants are often combined with gynaecomastia surgery or chest/flank liposuction for a complete chest remodel — combining adds to the total but is more cost-effective than separate operations.
Standard vs custom implants — why the price differs
Standard pectoral implants are solid silicone devices made in a range of profiles and sizes. For most men seeking cosmetic chest definition, one of these off-the-shelf sizes fits well, which is why standard bilateral augmentation has a fixed starting price of £9,500.
Custom-made implants are a different proposition. Where a chest has an irregular deficit that no standard size can match — as in Poland’s Syndrome (congenital absence or underdevelopment of the pectoral muscle) or Pectus Excavatum (a sunken chest wall) — the implant is designed and manufactured to fill that specific shape, often from a CT scan or chest mould. That bespoke fabrication adds cost and lead time (the implant is made to order over several weeks), which is why these cases are quoted individually at consultation rather than from a fixed price.
What pectoral implant surgery involves
Surgery takes around two hours for a bilateral procedure and is a day case — you go home the same day. In brief:
- Incision: a 5–6 cm incision is made in the natural crease of the armpit (the axilla), so the scar is hidden in the armpit fold and there’s no scar on the chest itself.
- Pocket: a pocket is created beneath the pectoralis major muscle (subpectoral) or beneath the muscle’s fascia (subfascial), depending on your soft-tissue thickness and goals.
- Placement: the solid silicone implant is inserted using a no-touch technique to reduce infection risk, and bilateral symmetry is checked before closure.
- Closure: dissolvable sutures; a small drain may be placed and removed two to three days later.
The implants are solid (not gel-filled like breast implants), so they can’t rupture or leak and have no scheduled replacement interval — the result is permanent.
What anaesthetic is used?
Pectoral implant surgery at Centre for Surgery is performed under TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia), administered by a consultant anaesthetist. You’re fully asleep throughout. TIVA gives a smoother recovery with less post-operative nausea than gas-based general anaesthesia, which suits same-day discharge.
Are pectoral implants available on the NHS?
Cosmetic pectoral augmentation — for chest definition — isn’t funded by the NHS and isn’t covered by private medical insurance, so it’s a self-funded procedure. Reconstructive cases can be different: chest wall deformities such as Poland’s Syndrome are sometimes treated within the NHS, though access and criteria vary and waiting times can be long. If your situation is reconstructive, your surgeon can talk you through both the private route and what NHS treatment may or may not cover at consultation.

Pectoral implants cost FAQs
How much do pectoral implants cost in the UK in 2026?
At Centre for Surgery in London, standard bilateral pectoral augmentation starts from £9,500. Custom-made implants for reconstructive cases (Poland’s Syndrome, Pectus Excavatum, chest wall deformities) are priced individually at consultation because the implant is manufactured to match a specific chest.
Why are custom pectoral implants more expensive than standard ones?
Standard implants come in a range of off-the-shelf sizes and fit most cosmetic patients, so they’re covered by the £9,500 starting price. Custom implants are designed and manufactured to fill a specific deficit — usually from a CT scan or chest mould — which adds a fabrication cost and several weeks of lead time. Custom implant surgery starts from £14,000.
What’s included in the price of pectoral implant surgery?
The surgeon’s and anaesthetist’s fees, TIVA, day-case theatre, the implants themselves, all consultations and pre-op assessment, dissolvable sutures, your surgeon’s direct number for the first 24 hours, and the 7–10 day, 6-week, and 3-month follow-ups. The compression garment is not included and is bought separately.
Is the compression garment included in the cost?
No. The compression garment is purchased separately before surgery and is worn continuously for six weeks to support the healing pocket and stabilise the implant. Your patient coordinator advises on the correct garment at your pre-operative assessment.
How much are pectoral implants per month on finance?
You can pay in full or spread the cost with finance through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Plans and a representative example are on our finance options page, and a patient coordinator can talk you through them on 020 7993 4849.
Are pectoral implants available on the NHS?
Cosmetic pectoral augmentation isn’t NHS-funded or covered by private insurance — it’s self-funded. Reconstructive chest wall conditions such as Poland’s Syndrome are sometimes treated within the NHS, though criteria and waiting times vary. Your surgeon can explain both routes at consultation.
Where is the scar after pectoral implant surgery?
The 5–6 cm incision is placed in the natural crease of the armpit, so the scar is hidden in the armpit fold and there is no scar on the chest itself. It typically fades to a fine, pale line over three to six months.
Can pectoral implants be combined with other procedures?
Yes. They’re frequently combined with gynaecomastia surgery (removing excess glandular tissue before placing the implant) and with chest or flank liposuction for a complete chest remodel. Combining adds to the total cost but is more cost-effective than staging separate operations, and means a single recovery.
